Kennel Cough Reminder

This summer strain of kennel cough has been very strong and effected lots of MA. It’s caused a lot of concern for our fellow parents and we certainly want you all to understand that we take every extra precaution we possibly can so that your pups come into a safe and clean facility. We have a very regimented cleaning protocol while using the best products to help stop the spread of germs etc. This is similar to children or adults catching the common cold –

That being said, we highly encourage that parents keep a special eye on their pups for any of the following symptoms: coughing/hacking, nasal and eye discharge, lethargic behavior or loss of appetite. If your pup experiences any of the behaviors mentioned, we kindly ask that they stay home and if symptoms progress, then seeing your pups vet is highly recommended. If your pup experiences any such behaviors while in daycare, we will be notifying parents and asking them to pick up & keep Fido home to better protect others until symptoms subside or until your vet clears them safe for daycare. It’s very contagious and can spread very easily.

Suggestions from the vet is to get the kennel cough shot every 6 months and even getting canine influenza shot for double protection.

We at Salty Dog understand that this is a scary time, and want to assure you all that we do the best we can when given such unknown circumstances and will always put our furry friends before anything else. We appreciate each and every one of our customers very much ❤
